Friends of Grattan Playground (FOGP), was formed in 2007 to enable neighborhood residents and families to become involved in the stewardship of Grattan Playground. In 2013, the FOGP began a community planning process to renovate the playground. We partnered with the SWA Group (local landscape architects), the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department (SFRPD), and the San Francisco Parks Alliance (our fiscal sponsor) to develop a vision for the playground.
FOGP began the community design process to ensure the community has design input. In early 2014, FOGP sponsored several community meetings open to all, to collect ideas from individuals who use the playground everyday; parents, teachers and other community members. The latest community meeting was held on April 22nd 2015.
After careful deliberation and much discussion the community has decided that a full-scale renovation of the playground is not in their best interest at this time. For more information as to why this was decided, please read the Community Update section.
Currently FOGP together with SFRPD is working very hard on making improvements at Grattan Playground happen right now! We need your help and support to achieve even more.
